Erasmus Plus

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme that finances mobility and cooperation activities in education, training, youth, and sport. Its objective is to improve skills, promote inclusion, boost innovation, and strengthen European identity. It is organised into three Key Actions:

  • KA1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals: Allows students, teaching staff, and other participants to undertake training stays abroad.
  • KA2 – Support to policy development and cooperation: Initiatives to improve educational systems at a European level.
  • KA3 – Support for policy reform: initiatives to improve education systems at the European level.

For a CPEPA (Adult Education Centre), Erasmus + means:

Real internationalisation opportunities for both students and staff.

European funding to improve educational quality.

Flexible projects, ranging from short-term experiences to long-term strategic plans.

A boost for inclusion, digitalisation, and innovation in adult education.

Our history of participation in European programmes began in 2003 with two Grundtvig projects, where the staff of CPEPA Alfindén collaborated with adult education centres in Norway, France, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, and Italy. The experience was so enriching that the intention to participate was revisited on several occasions.

Ultimately, in 2024, funding was secured for a short-term project that encompassed teacher training mobilities, job shadowing visits to other public adult education centres, and two student mobilities to Italy and Germany—totalling 37 completed mobilities that promoted Erasmus+ values throughout the entire educational community.

In 2025, the institution applied for and was awarded Erasmus accreditation, guaranteeing long-term funding and participation in European mobilities over the coming years.

Accreditation Diary

In the 2025 call, the centre submitted its application for accreditation, which required designing an Erasmus Plan with innovative ideas and long‑term objectives. After the final resolution, CPEPA Alfindén is now an accredited Erasmus+ centre and began implementing the allocated funds from June 2026 onwards.

Short-term Erasmus + project

Life, languages and technology around us

Between January 2025 and March 2026, a short‑term Erasmus+ KA122 project titled “Life, Languages and Technology Around Us” was carried out.

The objectives pursued with the implementation of this project included the Europeanisation of the centre and its members, the improvement of the linguistic and digital competences of both teachers and students, and the establishment of contact with public adult education centres in Europe for mutual learning.

Launching the project was a challenge that required constant learning, strong teamwork, and great dedication from everyone involved in its development.

The results began to appear from the very beginning of the project, when the first contacts were established through websites and platforms dedicated to information exchange among educational centres interested in carrying out mobilities. The Erasmus quality standards for the 2024 call were carefully considered, and the guidelines set by SEPIE for the management of European projects of this kind were followed.

Contact was established with more than fifty educational centres, although many of them did not respond to our request. Fortunately, there were positive replies, and all planned mobilities could be carried out as scheduled.

Job‑shadowing visits were made to educational centres in Germany, Italy and Belgium. In addition, four teachers from the centre completed training courses aimed at improving their linguistic and methodological competences.

A student mobility to Italy was carried out, involving ten learners and two teachers from CPEPA Alfindén. Later, another group mobility to Germany took place, with twelve students and two accompanying teachers. The content of both mobilities, as well as their preparatory and follow‑up activities, focused on improving linguistic, digital and social competences.

In total, the centre managed thirty‑seven six‑day mobilities, plus two travel days. This represented a truly transformative experience that left a lasting impact on all participants, as well as on the students and teachers of our centre and the host institutions.

The dissemination of the results obtained through the project has led to an increase in enrolment in language courses, an expansion of the language offer, growing interest in digital training, and strong motivation among students and teachers to improve communication in foreign languages.
